About.
The serious bit. I have influences such as William Eggleston, Peter Fraser, Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter et al, each project goes beyond the recording to capture the unspoken; questioning beliefs and perception. I try and reflect truths and emotion within subjects considered mundane or everyday.
The works social conscience is based within exploring the philosophical questions and assumptions of what it means to perceive and to live. The motivation is to challenge the viewer to re-examine how reliable/truthful their, physical, psychological, political and social perception of the world is. The images are an effort to transcend the limitations of these perceptions, and assumptions; not by their context or content, but within pure appreciation, awareness and sensuality, through equivalence and the unspoken.
I also sketch and write, my drawing and illustrations are more just for my own enjoyment. My writing is mixed. Everything from verse, humour, to short fiction.
You can find artist statements to projects in the writing section.
